Everlands is a basically The Animals of Farthing Wood outsmarting your generic zombie infection invasion. Odds are well that this sounds like a masterpiece. And yes, it is. In this little lushly illustrated turn-based strategic puzzle thing, you fight evil consumed bears with killerbees. Nuff said.

With their rebrand into PVT (formally Pivot), they seem to have traded their last guitar for yet another arpeggi-synth. PVT always did the better math as Battles, now, with their all the more Berlin-David Bowie dark experimental pop, they’re heading to become the even better INXS. I’ll go along with that.

Apparently Omega Massif’s repress of their debut ‘Geisterstadt’ conceptually describes a gallery in an inoperative mine leading to a gold digger ghost town. For me it rather sounds like Isis doing a soundtrack for Dig Dug.

They’ll be releasing new stuff later this year. Until then you can, as usual, download a bucket of their sludge over here.

Everyone loves ponies, so it makes perfect sense to me that Kitsuné team up with yet another animal horde, the pony tails of Ponystep, to release some Jerry Bouthier mixed bonanza in-between joli Paris chic grosse tête, UK hip ethnic enclave of London edge and some other cities with catwalks. With contributions from a.o. Roísín Murphy, Two Door Cinema Club, Lindstrøm, Booka Shade & David E Sugar, this is clearly a légère summer canvas shoe thing… and that’s the way it should be.

Korean cinema is a mouthwatering treasure chest for visually stunning and eclectic, shocking and tough stories. Horror and monster films are considered to be among the best the medium has to offer. In the last years however, slow-paced dramas began to gain worldwide recognition and appreciation. Ki-duk Kim’s Samaritan Girl is only one pick worth mentioning. With the consistent use of the iconography of the new testament, Samaritan Girl has an explicit glance at guilt and atonement of victims and victimizers in a society aroused by its children. Kudos.

ModNation Racers

ModNation Racers follows Sackboy’s play.create.share legacy. Which is basically a good thing, keeping the spirit alive and stuff. As a game however it is a schnellschuss and sure enough lacks a competitive thought-out gameplay and a uniqueness, a captivating art style and heart. Better see ModNation Racers as a hands-on but still powerful level editor for a rather half-decent Mario Kart clone. Nothing more, nothing less.

PS: Don’t you dare underestimate the creativity of the crowds. There’s a lot going on in the cloud.
