
She, a Chinese literally gives you little to grapple on to. In this coming of age drama a quite random young chinese girl, on a dramaturgical level emotionally detached and psychologically isolated from her surroundings, merely depicts a vessel gently flowing through beautiful imageries of richly absurd scenarios. Granted, it’s demanding a quite high amount of patience, but the reward is epic if you’re willing to flow with her and avoiding any (in this case non-existent) friction. There’s no suspense, no emotion, no empathy and no valuation… and this makes this little gem an absolute winner. If it works for you…
