Ico is like Brangelina on Fort Boyard. Underneath however it’s possibly the most enchanting and touching get the girl and escape story you’ll ever play. Shadow of the Colossus is not quite as quirky as it involves slaying ubersized tortoise, sandworm or flying serpent colossi – all just to eventually, you know, get the girl. The thing with these two games is the momentum and level of immersion they create, even years after first release.

It’s a grace that these games got a remaster. And not only for the sake that I love take the girl and run games.
