LittleBigPlanet

LittleBigPlanet Big

LittleBigPlanet is REALLY one of the greatest achievements of mankind. Ok, maybe it’s not THAT important, but it is still outstandind as its coherent concept and design feels like the birth of a new era in video gaming. There’s no better reason to own a PlayStation 3.

It may be the most creative game of all time, it could well usher in a new era of user-generated gaming, and has a chance of bringing about a 2D platforming renaissance, but all those things are down to you – the community. The game stands, stumbles and falls with the creative power of the gaming community. But if gamers all around the world create the levels I think they’re capable of, we might be looking at one of the most important games this console generation has seen.  It’s crafted with a whole lot of love and dedication as it is fantastic, fun, beautiful, charming, creative, and unique – pretty much everything you would want from any game. And you see and feel it in any minute enjoying the game. Even classics like Rare’s Donkey Kong trilogy on the SNES must take their hat off to this oeuvre of buoyancy.

With sheer unlimited replay value and potential, I will probably be playing it for months – if not years – to come. The gameplay is perfect in it’s simplicity yet easy to learn and hard to master. LittleBigPlanet is one of the best and original games I’ve ever played.

And for those ignoramuses who still ain’t sure about buying it: the soundtrack features a song from the band Battles. Need more?
