Japanoise pioneer Keiji Haino (灰野敬二) is now around for over 30 years and has released 70+ records reaching from to singer-songwriter to noisy free improvisation. In the program of the Enstatir Sunghife night of the Club Transmediale festival Keiji Haino however indulged himself in a abrasively loud havoc and cathartic wall of sound, coming as a relief as Merzbow and the likes.
One of the opening acts to be mentioned representatively was former Baltimore noise pop combo WZT Hearts member Jason Urick presenting his solo debut “Husbands”, showing his more fragmentated, ghosted and experimental approach to proper pop. Nice one.
