ModNation Racers
ModNation Racers is a schnellschuss and sure enough lacks a competitive thought-out gameplay and a uniqueness, a captivating art style and heart. Better see it as a hands-on but still powerful level editor for a rather half-decent Mario Kart clone keeping the play.create.share spirit alive.
God of War III
Our brutal greek bully squib once again leaves a trail of blood on his vengeful tour de force to butcher the whole mythological prominence. Eradicating both olympian gods and titans alike, the chaos of violence once again is gruesome beyond any good taste. Btw. Bayonetta says Kratos is a fag.
Heavy Rain
If it were a movie, the critics would tear it apart in fervent revulsion. In addition to the screaming bad drama, there are glaring and even gamebreaking flaws such as the horrid sounddesign and the even worse awkwardness which accompanies the two-dimensional and bleak characters in every dialogue and every action.
PixelJunk Shooter
The game mechanics are as simple and crude as a cave shooter, you’re a spacecraft navigating through pits and burrows to rescue buried miners. The spicy thing now is the addition of several different elements like magma, water, ice, gas and oil which interact for several puzzles.
Uncharted 2: Among thieves
The developing team around Naughty Dog once again created with Uncharted 2: Among Thieves an adventure unlike any other. In its visually stunning and brilliantly photographed world there are moments you’ll probably never forget.
WipeOut HD Fury
Ein sehr typisches WipeOut eben, das euch die Superlative nur so entgegenschleudert. Für zehn Euro gibt es drei neue Renn-Modi (den martialischen Battle-Royale-Modus Eliminator, das riskante Zone-Battle und das ultrapsychedelische Detonator-Event), 12 neue Strecken, 13 neue Raumgleiter, neue Kampagnen mit 80 Missionen, sechs neue Musikstücke mit u.a. Two Fingers und Noisia.
InFAMOUS
Grafisch sieht inFAMOUS für ein Openworld Game, bis auf ein paar nervende Pop-ups, blitzsauber aus. Die Geschichte ist äußerst spannend und wird in den 20 Stunden Spielzeit geschmackvoll im Comic-Look erzählt. Aber das mit Abstand Genialste ist der grandiose, von Amon Tobin komponierte Soundtrack. Auf einem brauchbaren 5.1-Receiver klingt das Ding wie Hölle.
Flower
Dieses Gefühl, diese Emotionen, diesen Duft, der Wind der dir um die Ohren säuselt, den Einfluss der Natur – das ist genau das Erlebnis welches das junge Entwicklerteam von thatgamecompany mit Flower transportieren wollten… und auch eindrucksvoll geschafft haben. Eine atemberaubende Erfahrung, die eher Kunst als Spiel ist.
Killzone 2
Trotz der inhaltlichen Schwächen ist Killzone 2 wegen der tadellosen Optik und perfekten Symbiose aus Stil und Form ein genredefinierendes Meisterwerk, welches nachhaltig Spuren hinterlassen wird.
LittleBigPlanet
With sheer unlimited replay value and potential, I will probably be playing it for months – if not years – to come. The gameplay is perfect in it’s simplicity yet easy to learn and hard to master. LittleBigPlanet is one of the best and original games I’ve ever played.
Resistance 2
In the end Resistance 2 is not the flagship that Sony needs to establish the Playstation 3 system as outstanding console with great exclusive shooters. Resistance 2 is a game for bloodthursty and mindless teenager scangers or dumb-ass chavs and bowsies. Get a life dudes… or at least some dignity.
